John Daly Tee Shot Off Beer Can

I had to post this video. Looks like John Daly is finally turning his life and game around as he successfully hits his drive off Kid Rock’s beer can. I guess this is impressive. Take a look.

Who is Anthony Kim

Who is Anthony Kim

I turn on the Wachovia Championship this weekend and to my surprise I find a young 22 year old with a significant lead. It was pure dominance in an almost Tiger Woods like way. I’ve heard of this kid from time to time, but when I watched him play this weekend I felt like this was going to be someone in the Top 10 on a regular basis. They showed his solid swing numerous times in slow motion, and he truly has some serious talent. He seems to have that confidence in his eye that not everyone on tour necessarily maintains. He had the huge belt buckle with his intials branded across the front, all the Nike gear covering his body, and a look as if I’m going to win this thing no matter what anyone else tries to do. It was great to watch in a week with no Tiger, and really no big names at the top. Although Kim was at the top on his own this time around. Following that I decided to do some more research and realized he was just building up to this win. It was inevitable if you look at his numbers, and this probably won’t be his last win this year. He’s already had 3 top ten finishes. Take a look at his lifetime stats even though there aren’t many at this point: http://www.pgatour.com/players/02/97/18/. Not to bad considering his young age.

However, I guess what I’m actually reaching for in this entry has nothing at all to do with Anthony Kim. It has everything to do with the question of whether or not this tour will stay interesting as Tiger, Phil, Vjay, and all the other current greats get a little older. My guess is that it won’t based on players like Kim, Adam Scott, Sergio Garcia, Brandt Snedeker, and Trevor Immelman. http://www.pgatour.com. There is enough fire power there to keep it interesting for a long time. I’m still waiting for Sergio to break out as I think he’d be the most interesting from a personality persepective. I’ll take any one of them if they keep the PGA Tour flourishing.

Private Golf Courses vs Public Golf Courses

Private Golf Courses vs Public Golf Courses

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Savannah_Durbin]Savannah Durbin

One of the many dilemmas of a golfer is: “Should I spend a lot of money on joining a private club, or do I play at public courses?” There is no right or wrong answer; it just depends on what you are looking for. Both private golf courses and public golf courses have their advantages and disadvantages.

A public course is ideal for the golfer that does not play very often. What’s the sense in paying every month for a membership that does not get used? If you don’t play more than once a week over the summer, and do not play often during the winter, a public course would probably make more economic sense. Also, if you are all about trying out new courses, and see yourself getting bored playing the same eighteen holes every time you play, then definitely consider a public course.A private course on the other hand, is best for a golfer that plays multiple times during a week, and frequently plays over the winter. More money would probably be saved in the long run in paying a set amount of money each month on membership and a cart pass, than to pay fifty to one hundred dollars for every round. A private club is very attractive because of the social atmosphere. Not only can you and your friends go out and play at a familiar place, but you have the potential to meet more people with similar interests. It is also a great place for networking, and making good connections. Many private clubs have weekly leagues and hold special member tournaments that are very fun to participate in. They are often a great way to make friends. Some leagues even have special events where you can play at other courses against players from different courses.Depending on what you are looking for, and how much money you are willing to spend, both private and public clubs have their ups and downs. It pays to research specific prices; as there are expensive private clubs, and public courses. Savannah Durbin is an avid golfer and aspiring computer engineer.

This doesn’t seem like it could be real, but this shot may be more amazing than the one by Woods back at the Masters I posted in the past. Check it out:
